Center for pain and supportive Care

Yoga, yoga therapy and fitness classes offer those with pain and/or limited mobility the opportunity to safely, slowly and gently transition back into life physically, emotionally and mentally.  The myriad of benefits have greatly improved the lives of many of our patients and non-patients alike. Exercise, education, psychological and peer support, and deep relaxation are imperative pieces to overall wellness for especially those suffering from chronic pain and cancer pain and for those hoping to prevent a life with pain or debilitating diseases.

Dr. Stearns founded Center for Pain and Supportive Care based on over 26 years of experience in the field of cancer and chronic pain management.  She knew then and knows without a doubt now, that treating pain was much more than providing medications and procedures; that in order to improve quality of life she must attend to the whole person including their emotional health, traumatic history, weight management issues and incorrect or limited education about their situation.

To support this unique way of treating chronic pain, Dr. Stearns built, within her medical clinic, a space for fitness and yoga classes, group education, and supporting events. This comprehensive approach to care has proven itself successful time and time again.
